Cue the Americana music

Spent some time in Morris, MN this past weekend, about three hours west and slightly north of the Twin Cities, for a family get-together and had a chance to explore a bit of the area. This was taken just a couple miles from the downtown area.

Despicable art in progress

So for twenty bills you get set up with a section of sidewalk, a box of 48 pastels, and assorted other art supplies, and then you can go crazy. There were some really talented folks flashing their artistic skillz. Chalkfest 2013, Wausau, WI.

Sail into sunset

Chalk this one up in the "almost" category. If I could do it over, the sailboat would be fully in the shot. But the floating deck I was on while taking the picture was bobbing around more than I expected. I fired off about three shots before the people in the boat had pushed off from the dock and were out of the frame; this is the best of those.

The Balanced Approach

I asked him if I could get a picture of him on what I think was a slackline; he said "I've only had it for three days...I'm not very good yet." Then he asked if I wanted to give it a try. I have enough trouble walking on the ground. And he was good enough to let me get this shot.
