Suspension

Across the street from Corner Meats & Grocery, Saint Paul, MN.

Slippery When Wet

From a recent visit to Gettysburg, PA, where I grew up. Battlefield cannon, near the Pennsylvania Memorial, on a misty, foggy morning.

The Last Roundup

Corner of Lake Street and South 2nd Avenue, Minneapolis. Wanted to get a picture of this sign before the place changes over to the Flamingo Restaurant. Couldn’t find much information online other than a couple brief reviews on sites like Yelp and Trip Advisor. One person noted that it was a good dive bar with cheap drinks, only “try not to get stabbed”.

Personally I like that it’s a beer “hall”. Must’ve made it feel just like Bavaria.

Catch of the Day

Things are greening up outdoors now that the calendar is past mid-April, but this is Minnesota, so winter releases its grip reluctantly. Chilly conditions didn't stop this hearty soul from trying his hand at a little early-morning fishing at Como Lake.

Uncle Junk's Ride

There really is an Uncle Junk. I spoke to him. Uncle Junk is the kind of man who will at first refuse to let you photograph his truck, but then will tell you it’s okay as long as he isn’t part of the shot. And you will thank Uncle Junk and exchange pleasantries for a few minutes and then go on with your day. That’s how Uncle Junk rolls.

Hello Hi-Lo

Dusk falls at one of my favorite dining spots in the Twin Cities: great staff, great menus, great drinks, great ambiance, great sign. If you haven’t been there yet, add it to your to-do list right quick.
