A few more shots from Red Bull's Crashed Ice in St. Paul. First up, the St. Paul Vulcans light up the night to get the party started:
I need a faster lens for skaters hurtling off a jump when they're doing anywhere from 25-35 mph. That's the St. Paul Cathedral in the background.
One of the competitors catching a ride to the next heat.
And finally, and perhaps most incredibly, HARD PHOTOGRAPHIC PROOF of the elusive white were-unicorn. Hidden among 80,000+ people in the middle of St. Paul. Astonishing but true.
Photos mostly from Minneapolis and Saint Paul, but also other places because sometimes I get lost.

CRASHED
These guys are NUTS. Red Bull’s Crashed Ice competition in St. Paul. The
skaters can hit speeds up to 40 mph (70 kph), and the course is a
brutal combination of downhill, uphill, tight turns, and jumps. The only
thing that could make it more difficult is if they hid a bear somewhere
on the course.
