The Cascades

Was surprised to read that this is considered one of the less popular waterfalls along the Baptism River; my first impression was one of awe. But this was only my first trip into Tettegouche State Park, so no doubt there are plenty more wow moments ahead. Already looking forward to going back.

Saint Paul waterfall

Set out yesterday morning to take a specific shot of the Mississippi River but didn't get what I was looking for. On the walk back to my car, feeling disgruntled, I heard running water, and followed a path into the woods where I discovered this small waterfall in a spot I've passed numerous times, but until that moment had been unaware of its existence.

Putting the fall in Minnehaha Falls

Leaves are starting to turn; time to admit that summer really is winding down. Drove past Minnehaha Falls last night; couldn't resist stopping off for a few shots (photos, not drinks...not that I'm opposed to either).

Apple of the earth

The Pomme de Terre River, Morris, MN. One of my daughters tells me this is French and means “apple of the earth", which usually refers to the potato. The wind was blowing like crazy while shooting a few photos here, so some of the tree details aren’t as sharp as I’d like, but I think it still turned out prettier than your average potato.

Rapids

Another angle of Minnehaha Creek. Plenty of rain = lots of fast-moving water and some wet feet (but happily, dry camera).
