Saint Paul waterfall
Set
out yesterday morning to take a specific shot of the Mississippi River
but didn't get what I was looking for. On the walk back to my car,
feeling disgruntled, I heard running water, and followed a path into the
woods where I discovered this small waterfall in a spot I've passed
numerous times, but until that moment had been unaware of its existence.

Melted
If you ventured outside this past week in the Twin Cities, you probably noticed puddles everywhere. What little snow we had this winter melted in a flash, thanks to a solid week of ample sunshine and temperatures in the 50's and 60s. This particular puddle was located on the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. The building reflected in it is Steichen's Market and Deli. Their motto is "Cease the grease. Nothing on a stick since 1933". They're open for the twelve days of the fair, and also for three days each June for the Back to the 50's car show.

Dockside
Smack in the heart of downtown Saint Paul but feeling miles
away from the city. The docked boat is the Covington Inn Bed and
Breakfast. For 30 years it was a working towboat, then spent about 20
years dry-docked in Louisiana before the River Valley Preservation
Company towed her to Saint Paul and created one of the few floating bed
and breakfasts in the country.

Warmer, warmer...
Ice machine, State Fairgrounds, Saint Paul, MN.
Temperatures in Saint Paul climbed out of the deep freeze and flirted with the 50-degree mark for the first time in ages. Make sure those ice makers are in good working order, Minnesotans--starting to get mighty warm out there.
