Break

A momentary pause in front of the Clarence W. Wigington Pavilion in Saint Paul, MN. Wigington was the first black municipal architect in the United States, serving 34 years as senior designer for the City of Saint Paul, Minnesota. Sixty of his buildings still stand in Saint Paul, including the Highland Park Tower and Roy Wilkins Auditorium.

Return

Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.
I like the ocean. The ocean makes me feel calm. Since moving to the Midwest, I don’t get to the ocean nearly often enough. I’m also not calm often enough, either.

Electric Steel Elevator

One of the buildings in the Southeast Minneapolis Industrial area (SEMI). Lots of interesting stories about this area can be found online. I have a suspicion this area is going to change rapidly in the near future, since brew pubs and condos are bringing more people into the vicinity. My guess is that the city won’t leave some of these places open to the public, or will knock them down and replace them with something else. So see it while you still can.
