Most fun you can have in a parka and multiple layers of clothing!
Photos mostly from Minneapolis and Saint Paul, but also other places because sometimes I get lost.

Ignition
Found
myself standing on the Franklin Avenue Bridge in Minneapolis about 7:15
this morning: the freezing rain had slid past to our south and the
temperature was in the tolerable range. I aimed the camera east and
waited to see what would happen. The longer I stood there, the better
the sky became.
And then just as suddenly, within half an hour, it was over and gone.

Walking surface may be slippery
Even at close to straight-up noon it's still possible to get some
interesting light and shadow patterns from that low-in-the-sky winter
sun. This was taken from the McGladrey Plaza parking garage in
Minneapolis, MN.

Bright
Meet Bright, who is from Rwanda. He lives in the Twin Cities with a
family I’ve been friends with for ages. This is from a December photo
shoot, before the weather turned to total crap.

Halfway there
A bit of late afternoon sun popped the shadows
nicely on the grain silos over in the area of Minneapolis referred to
as “SEMI” (Southeast Minneapolis Industrial Area).
The second photo is a panoramic shot my daughter took with her phone. The figure on the left is me lumbering about, trying to determine a good vantage point for a photo or two.

One degree
Mississippi River at Crosby Lake Farm, Saint Paul.
On my way back from the MSP airport, having dropped off an out-of-town friend who’d been visiting, I passed by Crosby Lake Farm. Decided to have a look around, then decided on a quicker look once I felt how crazy cold the breeze felt on my bare skin. By the time I stumbled across this scene, my fingers were starting to go numb inside my gloves, so I made with the picture taking and raced back to the car to thaw out. Do I still have ten fingers? Stay tuned for the exciting answer.
